Line Editing: Editing for clarity and flow by rearranging sentences and paragraphs when needed. This type of edit dives a bit deeper than a copy edit, to include a deeper focus on continuity, transitions, structure, pacing, and character. The author’s voice will not be compromised or lost. 

Copy Editing: Editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style. This type of edit includes checking for consistency, clarifying meaning, eliminating double words, adding obviously missing words, polishing language. This is the most common type of editing needed.
